I'll overwhelm 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the combatants met personally to promote next month's bout.

Ex two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I will injure his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to really want to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

In spite of such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally recognized for his showmanship - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead criticized former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Still, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's biggest financial successes, frequently receiving massive paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in round four or five and asserted he would prevent the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters engaged in the traditional confrontation, with their size difference clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is actually proceeding.
